Rocklin became a city in 1893, back when the railroads hummed with shipments of local granite that formed the literal building blocks of many edifices in Sacramento and San Francisco. The city had its own growth spurt beginning in the 1980s, and today more than 68,000 people live there. The City Council has a plan to make the city’s four districts “unique destination locations with a sense of place,” each of which will have defined architectural guidelines.
The City Council holds meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Council meetings and advisory committee meetings are open to the public; see the agendas page for information on how to attend via Zoom.
The commission holds meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 3970 Rocklin Rd. Check website for information on teleconferencing and/or cancellations.
