CASA of Monterey County trains volunteers from the community to be advocates for children in the foster care system, aiding their transition to loving, stable homes.

Volunteers from all walks of life can apply to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates, which includes a thorough training. Advocates develop trusted relationships with the child as the courrt weighs the options of parental reunification, legal adoption or guardianship. As one child states on the group's website, “I love that my CASA came into my life and never did I have to wonder if she will walk out like everyone else did.”
